Like cranes and trucks? There are many positions available for equipment operators in an industrial construction site: moving equipment, dirt and other materials. Position responsibilities include operating cranes, trucks and other equipment to move fill and other materials planning operational lifts and transports, inspecting equipment and more.

Positions include:
Light Equipment Operator (Levels 1-3): Light Equipment Operators operate 4,000 gallon water trucks, 84’ steel drum rollers, 84’ padfoot rollers, JD 744 loaders, and tractors with plows. Requires 2+ years of experience as an equipment operator.
Heavy Equipment Operator (Levels 1-3): Heavy Equipment Operators operate one or more of the following construction vehicles: CAT 140M Blade w/GPS, JD 750K Dozer w/GPS, or CAT 349 Track Hoe. Requires 2+ years of experience as a Dirt Equipment Operator in Heavy Industrial Construction.
Foreman: Heavy Equipment and Crane Foremen oversee and manage civil equipment crews and coordinate lifting and movement of heavy equipment and materials. Requires 4+ years of experience as a Dirt Operator and additional supervisory experience.
Training
Crane operation positions require formal training or certification. Lamar Institute of Technology: LIT offers Forklift Training and Aerial Lift Training, as well as Skid Steer Training, and Earth Moving Equipment training.
How long will it take? Forklift and Aerial Lift Training can be completed in one 8-hour class session
