Labor
Are you interested in working in industrial construction, but don’t have experience or training? General labor is a good place to start - laborers assist with various processes and jobs around the construction site and can learn about different crafts and the construction process.
Responsibilities include performing a wide range of manual activities including but not limited to moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, climbing onto structures and scaffolding and using rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls and come along to move equipment or materials into place.

Generally, positions fall into these categories:
Laborer: Laborers assist with various manual needs of the construction work including but not limited to moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety and any other work instructed by a supervisor.
Foreman: Foremen laborers provide leadership and are responsible for, although not limited to: scheduling, detail planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control and ensuring the safety, consistent and application of all Zachry policies and procedures. Requires 5+ years of relevant experience and supervisory experience.
Training
Labor positions don’t require formal training, but if you need help getting ready to apply or interview, consider some soft skills courses to put your best foot forward.
The Golden Triangle Empowerment Center also offers an NCCER Level 1 introductory course that can help you develop skills and earn certifications.
How long will it take? 120 hours, 10 weeks at night

How much does it cost? $2,500, but you may qualify for scholarships
